Stop Excessive Noise Around the Petronas Twin Towers During Sleeping Hours

El problema

To Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur

We, the undersigned residents living in the vicinity of the Petronas Twin Towers, urgently call for immediate action to regulate and prevent excessive noise during nighttime hours.

For many years, families, newborns, young children, sick individuals, and elderly residents have been severely affected by events and activities taking place in front of the Petronas Towers. These events often include extremely loud music and rehearsals that continue late into the night and, at times, even during the early hours of the morning.

 • On numerous occasions, extremely loud music has been played from 8:00 p.m. until nearly 2:00 a.m., depriving entire households of rest.

 • On other days, sound tests and rehearsals have occurred as late as 12:00 midnight and even at 4:00 a.m. and 6:00am (like this past September 18th to September 19th 2025), disrupting the peace and sleep of the entire community.

This constant noise pollution has caused:

 • Severe sleep deprivation for families and children,

 • Negative health impacts on the sick and elderly,

 • Unnecessary stress and exhaustion for working adults, students, and parents.

We are not opposed to cultural, musical, or community events. However, these must be carried out with empathy, respect, and consideration for the thousands of residents who live nearby.

We therefore respectfully demand that:

 1. All events and sound checks near the Petronas Towers end by 10:00 p.m. at the latest.

 2. Absolutely no rehearsals, sound tests, or amplified music take place between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

 3. Proper noise level regulations and monitoring be enforced during all public events.

We are tired of enduring sleepless nights due to preventable disturbances. We call on the authorities and event organizers to act responsibly, safeguard public well-being, and restore peace to our homes.

Signed,

The Concerned Residents Around the Petronas Twin Towers
