I have been a courier for Evri for over 8 years, diligently serving the light and large parcels around the North East Lincolnshire areas. On Monday, the 19th of May, I found myself waiting at my delivery unit, which I personally finance, expecting the usual parcel delivery as it has been for the past 6 years. To my shock and dismay, after four exhausting hours of waiting, I was informed that my work had been reassigned to a cheaper alternative without prior notice. This is utterly devastating, especially when I have children to support and bills to pay. The actions of Evri are not only unprofessional but also have a significant impact on the mental health and livelihoods of their couriers.

Evri's strategy of cutting costs at the expense of hardworking couriers like myself is downright unacceptable. Assumptions are made that such tactics benefit the company, but in reality, they trample on the rights and dignity of the workforce. The abrupt removal of work without notice is not only morally wrong, it could potentially violate fair labor practices. Furthermore, such decisions send shockwaves through the lives of dedicated workers, leading to unnecessary stress, financial instability, and mental agony.

Mental health studies reveal that job insecurity, like what Evri employees endure, can lead to depression and anxiety. For every one of us trying to make an honest living, such actions do not just ruin today's paycheck—they compromise our future. We demand a fair treatment of couriers, consistent rates, and transparency in decision-making.

Evri should value its employees by ensuring fair labor practices are adhered to, such as offering notice periods and maintaining wage rates that reflect the true value of the workers. We are calling for accountability and integrity from Evri, urging them to rethink their strategies to put people over profits.
