Stop euthanizing wildlife, including rabies vector species

The Issue

It is disheartening to witness the consequences of human expansion encroaching upon the habitats of wildlife. We humans continue to steal areas inhabited by these magnificent creatures for our own selfish reasons such as building shopping plazas and more houses. This relentless expansion leaves them with nowhere to go, and when they stray onto our property or find refuge in our attics, our first instinct is to have them removed and killed. This is not ok.

Euthanizing wildlife, particularly species considered to be rabies vectors, is not a viable or humane solution to the problem of wildlife living amongst us. Many of these animals play crucial roles in their ecosystems, helping to maintain balance and biodiversity. By removing and killing them, we are not only disrupting nature's equilibrium but also failing to address the root of the problem: the loss of their natural habitat due to human expansion.

Furthermore, as stewards of this planet, it is our responsibility to coexist peacefully with all other forms of life. There are humane alternatives to euthanizing wildlife that we should be embracing. For example, comprehensive rabies vaccination programs for wildlife can significantly reduce the risk of rabies transmission while allowing these animals to remain a part of their ecosystems.

We call upon local governments, wildlife conservation organizations, and animal protection agencies to prioritize and implement humane wildlife management strategies. This includes investing in rabies vaccination programs, promoting wildlife corridors that allow safe passage between habitats, and educating the public on how to peacefully coexist with wildlife.

Inaction is not an option. Every life lost due to these inhumane practices chips away at the rich tapestry of our planet's biodiversity. Please join us in demanding change. Sign this petition and help stop the unjust killing of wildlife, ensuring a harmonious future for all creatures on this Earth. Together, we can make a difference.
