The Issue

My dog Nettles was abandoned on a quay in Devon and takan in by the pound. Luckily, she was networked by K9 Focus Dog Rescue. She would have been euthanized by the pound.  She is now a lovely dog who keeps our family happy and healthy. Amazingly, she has also become best friends with our previously dog-aggressive pet, and together they have lots of fun.

Sadly, many dogs are not as fortunate as Nettles. Thousands of abandoned dogs find themselves in shelters and rescues every year. The sad reality is that many of these innocent creatures face the threat of euthanasia due to overcrowded shelters and a lack of resources to care for them.

Reports suggest that approximately 670,000 dogs are euthanized annually in the U.S. alone (ASPCA). These figures point to an urgent need for change in how we manage and care for abandoned dogs.

We believe in a world where no dog has to face euthanasia simply because they have no home. Our goal is to urge local governments and animal protection agencies to increase funding and support for no-kill shelters and rescues, which provide a humane alternative.

We also encourage community involvement, asking everyone to consider fostering or adopting a dog in need, donating to local shelters, or volunteering. These actions can help reduce the strain on the shelter system, allowing for more dogs to find loving homes.

By signing this petition, you can help create a future where abandoned dogs receive the second chance they deserve. Let's work together to ensure that more dogs like Nettles can find their forever homes and spread joy and love, just as she has done for us.

Please sign this petition and help save countless lives.
