Cricket was rescued from a local pound after serving his seven days. He was covered in fleas and was very underweight when he arrived to us and we are trying our best to get him back his best self! Cricket is waiting for a home of his own.

Cricket's story is far too familiar, dogs are being found on the streets of the UK at an alarming rate and end up at local councils who try and find their guardians either through their microchips/registering or on social media channels.

They also approach dog/animal rescue centres and shelters to see if they have any spaces and are willing to take them in.

By law they have to keep the dogs for 7 days and then they are, legally, able to euthanise the dog whether these dogs are healthy or not!

Cricket is healthy and was going to be killed.

This rule is not only inhumane it goes against the rights of animals and needs to be stopped or at least challenged.
