Etsy Has Destroyed My Family Business Without Warning—And I’m Not Alone

For three years, I poured my heart into building EvergreenUKBoutique on Etsy—serving over 40,000 customers with thousands of 5-star reviews and constant Star Seller status. Then, without warning, Etsy began removing my listings. They ignored my support requests—even after I told them I’m autistic and ADHD and need live, human help to resolve issues.

Instead of assisting me, Etsy permanently shut down my shop, leaving me helpless to explain to my customers or fix anything. I’ve lost a six-figure family business that I worked on 7 days a week.

Sadly, this isn’t just my story. Many Etsy sellers have had their livelihoods erased overnight—with no explanation, no path to fix the situation, and no chance to be heard.

What We’re Asking For:

 1. Stop the practice of abrupt shop closures without warnings or due process.

 2. Provide sellers a chance to rectify issues before accounts are closed.

 3. Offer human support, especially for neurodivergent and disabled sellers who request it.

 4. Respond to Better Business Bureau cases and cooperate with mediation.

 5. Establish a Seller Bill of Rights for fair, transparent treatment.

Stats:

Etsy has lost since end of 2024: ~400,000 small businesses sellers by Q1 2025.

Etsy has lost over past year: ~1.8 million small businesses sellers (from Q1 2024 to Q1 2025).
Active-seller base now: ~5.2 million.

Etsy has removed roughly one in six active small businesses sellers within the past year. I am one of these sellers and my store was removed against my will with no way to rectify any issues after years of faithful service to Etsy customers and exceptional service and aftercare that I provided to them.
