The Issue

Holocaust remembrance pages have been removed from government websites under the misguided effort to erase references to "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" (DEI) from government platforms. The removal of these pages is an alarming act of historical erasure by our government, and it must be reversed immediately.

The deleted pages include an article about Holocaust survivor Kitty Saks, a feature on Holocaust Remembrance Week, and an article highlighting the importance of Holocaust education in shaping military leadership.

In response to the action, Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, said:

“Honoring the memory of the Holocaust and those who survived is not a matter of political ideology – it is a moral imperative and a vital component of education, remembrance, and the fight against antisemitism.”

The removal of these pages does not just silence historical truth – it disrespects the memory of the victims, the survivors, and the brave Allied soldiers, including American troops, who liberated the Nazi concentration camps. The Holocaust is not a political issue; it is a defining chapter in world history and a stark warning against the dangers of hate and extremism.

We call on the Department of Defense to restore these vital historical records. To erase these pages is to erase the lessons of the past, leaving us vulnerable to repeating them.

Sign this petition to stand against historical erasure and demand the Pentagon uphold its duty to remember.
