Stop Epping Forest Council from building houses on agricultural / green belt land

Stop Epping Forest Council from building houses on agricultural / green belt land

The Issue

This is a petition to stop the current plans to build at least nine houses if not more on agricultural land located at the back of Sheering Primley Lane as well as stop housing developments in other surrounding areas. The land they are proposing to build on is agricultural land used for growing food which is something that we already have shortages of. It is not sustainable to import everything we eat without growing anything ourselves. This area also already has a lot of strain on public services and these new houses will only add to the strain. They are not affordable either they will be four bedroom properties that only the wealthy can afford meaning there is no benefit to anyone other than lining the developer's pockets. This petition is not just about Sheering it is about sending a message to councils across the UK that we've had enough of them building on our green belt land deliberately creating more food shortages and destroying habitats for animals such as red kites, wild rabbits, wild deer, foxes and many more. There is no excuse for using green belt land for building as theres dozens of abandoned retail units and buildings across the country that can be turned into affordable housing. These developments are set to happen within the next few years if no action is taken to stop them now. If you care about our future as a country and the environment sign this petition. Every signature makes a difference in fighting for our basic human right of food and for nature.
