Stop Enfield Golf Club from Killing Foxes during Pregnancy Season

Stop Enfield Golf Club from Killing Foxes during Pregnancy Season
The Issue
Recently, I learned of a harrowing situation at Enfield Golf Club, a fact that was confirmed by local authorities. Sounds of gunfire echo through the serene landscapes, tearing through the tranquility. These were not warning shots, but a merciless attack on the foxes who venture onto the golf course. Unfortunately, the timing coincides with the foxes' pregnancy season, hence, leaving their cubs starving and helpless.
There is an ongoing campaign to boycott Enfield Golf Club. This is due to their brutal response to local wildlife, specifically foxes during the critical time of their reproduction cycle. It's important to address increased urban fox populations in a humane manner which doesn't disrupt their natural lifecycle or put dependent cubs at risk.
One can understand a need to manage fox populations, especially given reports of increased urban sightings. However, the RSPCA still strongly advises against culling and instead recommends deterrents and non-lethal methods to manage wildlife in urban areas (RSPCA, 2021). The golf club's actions go against these guidelines, prompting a need for immediate change.
Continuing this boycott of the club sends a strong message — we will not support businesses that fail to consider their impact on the delicate balance of local ecosystems. A switch to non-lethal methods will not only protect the fox population but will also safeguard the survival chances for fox cubs and maintain their crucial role in the ecosystem.
We need your support to bring about this change. Sign the petition to encourage Enfield Golf Club to adopt non-lethal control methods for foxes, especially during their pregnancy period.
