The Issue

London Borough of Enfield Is Planning To Lease Whitewebs Park To Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Please help us save our park and historic woodland. Thousands of walkers, dogwalkers,, running clubs, horse riders, nature lovers and families all enjoy using Whitewebbs.

The park has totally rewilded itself since Enfield Council have stopped maintaining it. 85 different species of birds and 9 different species of bats have been recorded in Whitewebbs

To avoid legal action by Friends of Whitewebbs  group and supporters, Enfield Council has shamelessly rushed forward with it's plan to lease Whitewebbs Park to Spurs and it's multi billion dollar offshore owners.

Tottenham Hotspurs want 60 percent of our park, including  the lake that has picnic benches so a lot of people get pleasure from sitting there and watching the huge variety of wildlife. They also want control of all the entrances, the car park, the cafe and the toilets. 60 percent will be fenced off, Astro turf pitches and built over and the public will be excluded.

The Campaign for Rural England and Enfield Roadwatch have said that what Enfield Council is doing is illegal.

The original deeds for the park from the 1930s that Friends of Whitewebbs obtained from London Metropolitan Archives state that the park was for the people of Enfield and none of it was to be fenced off or enclosed in any way.

If Friends of Whitewebbs have to employ a barrister, we are going to have to raise a lot of money so we are hoping that with enough signatures on a petition that Enfield Council will have to listen.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please sign and share.
