THE HUMANOID ROBOT ACT OF 2025

(The following was written without ChatGPT, etc.)
Hi - and welcome to those new to our petition.
The ‘Humanoid Robot Act of 2025’ - sponsored by Senator Bill Cassidy, was introduced to the Senate on November 11, 2025. If made into law, this act would limit the entities that the US could contract with regarding the creation, procurement, deployment of, etc. Humanoid Robots. Specifically, under this law the US would be prohibited from contracting with agencies associated with nations deemed adversarial. Here is a link to the Act for your review (LINK)
Noteworthy in this Act, I think, is the addressing of the ‘humanoid robot’ as a sort of robot class - and distinct from other robots. Of course, there are many types of robots - and many types of robots that should give us concern. But the ‘humanoid robot’ - I believe - pointedly represents the broad concern robots present.
I admit it’s not intuitive for me to discriminate between the existential dilemma of Humanoid Robots manufactured domestically vs abroad (in adversarial places or otherwise). Nevertheless, on the face of it, this act seems to promote discretion that is well within the domain of common sense.
Sincerely,
Michael Christensen-
