Stop early release from prison of the criminal surgeon Ian Paterson

Stop early release from prison of the criminal surgeon Ian Paterson
The Issue
Ian Paterson is a criminal surgeon who was sentenced to 20 years for grievous and actual bodily harm for performing harmful and unnecessary procedures on countless patients. He also harmed hundreds of patients by carrying out unrecognised breast procedures leaving breast tissue with out consent.
Although he received a 20-year sentence in 2017 he is due to be released early after serving only 10 years of his sentence. This release could happen before the inquests into 65 unnatural deaths of his patients are complete, an outcome that disregards both the seriousness of his crimes and the ongoing suffering of victims and families still waiting for answers.
Releasing Paterson early would undermine the accountability his sentence was meant to provide and inflict further distress on those whose lives he destroyed. The physical trauma, mistrust, and emotional toll he caused continues to affect victims to this day.
His actions have left deep scars not only on individuals but on the healthcare system itself, eroding public trust and highlighting the need for stronger safeguards. The system must not fail victims again by allowing him to walk free before the full truth is established.
We call on the UK Parole Board and the Ministry of Justice to reconsider any plans for his early release. Paterson must serve his full sentence. The voices of those he harmed must not be sidelined.
If you stand for justice and accountability and for preventing future tragedies please sign this petition.
