Living in Vasundhara Enclave, New Delhi has become increasingly difficult due to the unchecked activities of e-rickshaw drivers. On several occasions, these drivers have intentionally damaged my vehicle, and when confronted, they called other e-rickshaw riders, escalating the situation into chaos. On one distressing occasion, they even entered our apartment complex and resorted to violence. It’s a terrifying ordeal we should not have to endure. As a resident belonging to a middle-class family, it’s disheartening to find ourselves trapped in this situation with little recourse from local authorities.

Daily, we navigate the streets of Delhi to earn a livelihood, only to confront the reckless antics of e-rickshaw drivers. These individuals not only flaunt traffic laws but also engage in eve-teasing, are often under the influence of substances, and consistently disregard the safety of others. Their presence on the roads has become a peril to all who traverse them, and it's only a matter of time before more serious incidents occur.

Statistics from various local reports highlight the rise in complaints against e-rickshaw drivers in Vasundhara Enclave, emphasizing their growing threat to public safety. Despite clear evidence and numerous complaints, there seems to be an alarming lack of effective action from law enforcement agencies.

Immediate intervention is necessary to protect the residents and to ensure the safety and orderliness of our roads. We propose the following measures:

1. Stringent enforcement of traffic rules specifically targeting e-rickshaws.
2. Regular checks for substance abuse among drivers.
3. Establishment of a local task force to monitor and control e-rickshaw activities.
4. Imposing fines and serious penalties for any e-rickshaw found violating laws.
