Stop DX Lorries Causing Mayhem in Short Heath, Willenhall

Stop DX Lorries Causing Mayhem in Short Heath, Willenhall
The Issue
Short Heath Councillors, Cllr Amandeep Garcha, Cllr Poonam Gill and Cllr Josh Whitehouse are calling on DX Freight to stop the backlog of their lorries on local roads in Short Heath, including Ashmore Lake Way, Clarkes Lane, Sandbeds Road, High Road etc.
Following extensive dialogue, we are calling on Walsall Council and DX Freight to tackle the issues associated with their reckless behaviour.
Residents have expressed concerns about noise from the lorry engines and workers; traffic and highway obstruction from lorries queuing in the roads around the depot; access issues to properties and local businesses; speeding issues with lorries across Willenhall; pollution from idle engines in the area; witnessing near misses and road traffic accidents and litter dropped by workers near the depot entrance.
We the undersigned demand DX Freight and Walsall Council to work to stop queuing lorries on local roads, by working to find creative solutions to address the backlog of lorries entering the site, to monitor the behaviour of drivers as they approach the depot and to enforce safer practices and policies at the depot and when driving DX lorries.
These issues are of significant concern for many residents in Short Heath and the wider Willenhall area.
