We did it !! A huge win for Piedmont. The Greenville Planning Commission voted 8–1 to retract the 2024 approval for Owens Glen. This is a monumental success, and it happened because our community showed up, spoke up, and stayed persistent. Thank you to everyone who attended, emailed, called, and shared updates. The County heard us — and they supported the public process.
What’s next: this fight isn’t over. We should expect a lawsuit from the developer, and we’ll need to stay engaged to support the County and keep the momentum toward long-term LDR changes that better protect unzoned and rural areas.
✅ Please do two quick things:

- Send thank-yous: Please email County Council and the Planning Commission to thank them for standing up for smart growth and the community!
This was a big moment — and it proves what’s possible when a community stands together. Let’s stay alert and ready.
