Decision Maker Response

Domino's Australia’s response

Jan 21, 2016
We have been listening closely to the concerns raised via this page and petition and want to reiterate our zero tolerance stance to employment conditions that are non-compliant with employment law obligations.

In response to allegations of unfair dismissal of a staff member who shared a driver pay petition, we can confirm the staff member in question was not fired, but felt resigning was the best choice for them, which hands down should never have happened.

We can confirm that the employee has been re-offered employment within the organisation and we have spoken with the local store manager to reinforce their moral and legal obligations as an employer, ensuring that correct processes and procedures are adhered to.

In regards to this petition, we have corresponded with the parent in relation to their son’s pay at a local Domino’s store. In relation to this matter, we can confirm the Franchisee was fully compliant with the Enterprise Agreement.

We understand the importance of providing our employees with a positive and fair workplace with plenty of opportunity and we are currently in the process of negotiating a new Enterprise Agreement with the SDA Union to provide team members with better pay and entitlements, which will in many cases exceed other employers in the industry. This isn’t something that can happen overnight but rest assured is being treated with priority.

We strive to be transparent and encourage past and present employees who feel they have been unfairly treated to contact our head office directly via a dedicated 1800 wage assistance number and email address or the Fair Work Ombudsman directly.

Our employees are the backbone of our business. We do not and will not tolerate unethical behaviour against them or in any other part of our business.

As a proud Australian employer with a strong heritage and compliance record, Domino’s is committed to taking appropriate action regarding any and all non-compliance issues identified through the change.org petition or the dedicated email and the 1800 number.

Anyone who might have any further questions or concerns are encouraged to contact 1800 810 999 or email wage.assistance@dominos.com.au for the Employee Relations to investigate further as a priority.
