We are urgently calling for action against horrific cases of organized dog fighting and extreme animal cruelty happening in Kosovo.

Videos are being shared on social media showing small dogs being attacked, injured, and killed by larger dogs in brutal, organized fights. These acts are not accidents, they are deliberate, cruel, and illegal.

In some of these cases, individuals have already been identified, including:

Activists and citizens have gathered video evidence and reported these crimes multiple times. Despite this, the abuse continues.

This is not only animal cruelty — it is a serious public safety issue. Violence like this reflects a dangerous mindset that cannot be ignored.

We are demanding:

- Immediate investigation by Kosovo Police  
- Identification and prosecution of all individuals involved  
- Removal of violent content from social media  
- Stronger enforcement of animal protection laws in Kosovo  

Animals cannot speak for themselves. It is our responsibility to stand up and demand justice.

We will not stay silent while innocent lives are being tortured and killed.

As someone who is already involved in helping stray animals and collaborating with activists working tirelessly to protect them, witnessing this kind of organized violence continue without consequences is devastating and unacceptable. These animals have no voice, and without our intervention, this will persist. My heart breaks every time I see these innocent creatures suffer and die needlessly. I refuse to stand by while these acts of heinous cruelty go unpunished.

Dog fighting and animal cruelty are not just unethical; they are criminal acts that are outlawed in many parts of the world. Yet, in parts of Kosovo, such practices continue to operate in shadows. These inhumane activities not only result in the suffering and death of countless animals, but they also perpetuate a cycle of violence within communities. Studies have shown that animal abuse is often linked to human violence, impacting the well-being of society as a whole.

We urge the implementation of comprehensive laws that categorize animal cruelty as a serious crime, with penalties severe enough to deter future offenses.
