Disney released a statement saying that there is a plan in the works to build a "Disney-themed" community in Pittsboro (Chatham Park). They say sales will begin in 2027, and that it will hold 4,000 people.
   This would increase the population in Pittsboro, bring in significant construction, deplete Pittsboro's already struggling resources, along with many other extreme negatives. In our already struggling town, the addition of this Disney neighborhood to Pittsboro could be detrimental to the community, resources, environment, and economy of Pittsboro.
   In a place where small businesses are valued and loved, Disney's influence could take away the livelihood of many. We must put a stop to these plans, and help an already overpopulated North Carolina in whatever way we can.
