Stop development on Upminster Road North, Rainham
The Issue
I have been a resident of Rainham for many years. I love this community and the natural beauty that surrounds us. However, I am deeply concerned about the planned development on Upminster Road North. The proposal to build 411 new houses in our area poses serious challenges and threatens the character of our beloved community.
We are already struggling with extreme wildfires that compromise our safety and the environment. The addition of more housing will potentially increase the risk, putting more lives and properties in danger. Moreover, our current infrastructure is stretched beyond its limits. The daily traffic on Upminster Road North is already a significant issue, with local residents experiencing congestion and delays regularly. Introducing over 400 new homes will exacerbate this problem, making it even more challenging to commute and live peacefully in our area.
Rainham also suffers from a lack of essential resources. We do not have enough doctors, schools, or dentists to accommodate the current population, let alone support the influx of new residents such a development would bring. Our community cannot support this expansion without a significant improvement in these critical services. Approving this development without addressing these issues is detrimental to the quality of life for all Rainham residents.
Finally, this development overlooks the concerns of those who live here. It prioritizes expansion and profit over the needs and voices of local citizens. We must stand together and demand that our local council and developers hear us and reconsider their plans.
I urge our community members, local authorities, and anyone who cherishes the welfare and future of Rainham to oppose this development. Sign this petition to protect Rainham's character, safety, and future. Together, we can persuade the decision-makers to reevaluate this plan and safeguard our community. Please sign and share!
