Phar Lap Tree - Stop the burials being disturbed

The issue

Please help!

We need Legal specialists to protect the Phar Tree and Burials. Any $$$ would be greatly appreciated, any amount. https://gofund.me/e81622f9

A significant old tree with links to Phar Lap is again at risk. Laying beneath it are the burial sites of famous horses being Mischief, Musidora and Briseis. The sites are at risk due to a Developers proposed sewer main.

The Site is Heritage Listed:

https://vhd.heritagecouncil.vic.gov.au/places/208898

So many species of local wildlife also call this beautiful tree home, along with other trees which are in the Developer's sewer main path.

The Heritage and History aspects of the significant tree and what lays beneath are priceless and should be protected. It shouldn't be allowed to be disturbed so a Developer can subdivide his investment property.

Phar Lap's stablemates from his 1930 secret trip to the area before winning the famous 1930 Melbourne Cup, along with descendants of "Carbine" (winner of the 1890 Melbourne Cup) and other famous racehorses bred at the famous St Albans Park stud are all buried under this Beautiful Tree in the Developer's path. This is the only tree left of the handful which had the famous racehorse remains interred.

The Developer initially planned to bypass the Heritage Listed Site at the Planning Stage at local Council (who the Developer was a Director of), but the matter has been referred to VCAT and the Developer has now amended plans to go through the Heritage Listed Site.

The Developer's VCAT proposal is here:

https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/planning/documents/item/8db4d66a117a9b3.aspx

We are fighting this proposal in VCAT and potentially the Supreme Court, but we now need your help. Please don't let this Beautiful Tree with significant burials be lost.

We need Legal Specialists to protect the Tree and Burials. Any $$$ would be greatly appreciated, any amount. All left over funds will be donated to a charity of environmental or equine cause. https://gofund.me/e81622f9

Further information can be found by joining our Facebook Group to save this tree and stop this subdivision being: "St Albans Park Residents - Protecting Low Density Living" https://www.facebook.com/groups/900655583611563

Local ResidentPetition starterI am a local resident of St Albans Park, Victoria. I have lived in this beautiful, historic neighbourhood for more than 30 years and am saddened by what developers are allowed to do, to destroy the heritage and environmental benefits of the area.
