🛑 STOP DESTROYING OUR FORESTS IN CHARLOTTE

The Issue

Every week, in Steele Creek and across Charlotte, forests are being torn down to make room for sprawling townhouse developments, condos, and massive infrastructure projects. This is not progress. This is destruction. These forests are not empty land — they are living ecosystems. They store carbon, clean our air, cool our summers, protect biodiversity, and offer irreplaceable mental and physical health benefits to residents. With every tree that falls, we lose part of our oxygen capital. We lose shade, wildlife habitat, and natural flood protection. We lose balance — and future generations lose even more. We, the residents of Charlotte, demand: An immediate halt to further deforestation in Steele Creek and Berewick. A full environmental impact review before any new development is approved.
The protection and restoration of remaining urban forests as public green space.
Transparency and public input in all major zoning and development decisions. We cannot allow unchecked real estate profit to outweigh the health of our communities and our planet. 🌱 Our forests are not for sale. They are a shared responsibility. Stand with us — sign and share this petition. #SaveSteeleCreek #StopDeforestation #CharlotteNC #UrbanForestsMatter #JusticeForNature
