Stop Deportation

The Issue

Dear community members and partners,

We kindly request your urgent intervention in this Humanitarian and Compassionate case to avoid deportation due to Refugee case dismissal.

For the best interest of Faith Lena Fongu and humanity, please allow her to retain her legal working status, and reside in and work in Canada.

Faith Lena, Fongu came to Canada in December 2019. Since then, Ms. Fongu has been a valuable community member and a productive employee working as a Personal Support Worker.

Upon her arrival in Canada in December 2019, Ms. Fongu worked with Alert Best Nursing and Home Care as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) where she helped patients from all walks of life, more so at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the risk associated with COVID-19, Faith was amongst the frontline workers helping the elderly in the homes putting her patients before herself. Faith continued working as a PSW since then.

Until her work permit was withdrawn in October 2024; Miss. Fongu was an invaluable member of her team working above and beyond her regular job description as testified by her colleagues and clients.

Ms. Fongu has been a positive economic contributor through her taxes.

Miss Faith Lena Fongu is a blessing to our church family Winners Chapel, the Cameroonian living in and around Hamilton and Canadian communities. She is invested in many areas of the community’s social life including directing young people in difficulties to resource centers that could support them beyond her capacity and mentoring and counseling young men and women and always being the shoulder for them to lean on at any time.

Removing her from Canada would deprive this country of one of the most productive and conscientious members. Please support this good young lady.

In addition to that, Faith is currently suffering from a mental breakdown and seeing a specialist in mental health. Her mental breakdown comes from her memories of the torture and trauma she received back home due to her sexual orientation.

Asking Faith to leave Canada is denying her to her human rights and throwing her back to a country where same sex love is illegal with severe penalties, She has been, and will be again, subject to vigilante justice where groups take the law into their own hands, with no community protection, due process, or legal proceedings, and where there is no mental health support for people who have experienced what she has gone through.

she fears for her life if she returns home, as many others in her situation have died, not just that she will lose her human rights.

As we write this request for assistance, Faith is returning to the mental health specialist tomorrow.

Thank you in advance and please sign the petition for her to be granted the right to reside, and legally continue working in beautiful Canada.
