Stop delivery drivers & cyclists riding in parks, on pavements, and against traffic
The Issue
We are thankful for food delivery at home, and applaud cyclists for their choice of a green and healthy mode of transportation.
However, some moped riders and bicyclists have become a dangerous nuisance for pedestrians, by not following rules.
The un-citizenlike (and in some cases illegal) behaviour includes riding bikes, e-bikes, scooters, mopeds and similar vehicles
- On pavements, which are strictly for pedestrians
- In parks, where they are forbidden
- Against the direction of traffic, especially on one-way streets
This impacts adults, but is even more dangerous for:
- Citizens who might be sight or hearing impaired, or not as agile
- Children
- Pets
We urge local authorities, councillors, MPs and more importantly bicycle/scooter share companies and delivery companies to do their part in stopping this nuisance, before someone is hurt, maimed or killed by a collision between one of these vehicles and a human or pet.
Please sign this petition, if you agree, and forward it to your local authority, parks department, councillors and MPs.
Thank you very much.
