The Issue

To: The Supreme Court of [Country], Environmental Protection Agencies, Policy Makers, and Government Officials

Subject: Protect Our Forests, Preserve Our Future

We, the undersigned, call upon the government to immediately halt all deforestation activities in the name of "progress" and recognize that the destruction of forests and green belts is not development—it is a grave disservice to the people of this nation, the environment, and future generations.

We are witnessing the destruction of forests, the lungs of our planet, in exchange for temporary and harmful "progress"—whether it’s for roads, buildings, or industries. These actions are severely impacting air quality, biodiversity, and the climate. The average citizen, who already faces increasing pollution, heatwaves, and a deteriorating quality of life, will bear the brunt of these decisions.

Key concerns:

Air Quality and Health Risks: Forests are critical in maintaining air quality. Cutting them down only worsens the already alarming AQI (Air Quality Index) levels, leading to long-term health issues for citizens.

Climate Change: Deforestation accelerates the already-rising temperatures and contributes significantly to global warming.

Displacement of Wildlife: Animals are losing their habitats with no plans in place for their relocation. The future generations may only experience these creatures through AI, instead of in their natural habitat.

Sustainability and Innovation: Why cut down trees when we can "retool" or innovate in sustainable ways? We need a future where development goes hand-in-hand with preservation, not destruction.

Inequitable Burden on Common People: While celebrities and politicians may have the resources to live abroad, it’s the common citizens who will suffer the long-term effects of this destruction.

Our Demand:

We request that the Supreme Court and government declare all forests and green belts as the property of the people, to be protected and preserved. No government, whether present or future, should be allowed to destroy these irreplaceable natural resources under the guise of progress.

We do not want progress that destroys our natural world. We want progress that sustains and nurtures it.

We urge immediate action to combat global warming, as its devastating impacts on our climate, ecosystems, and future generations demand urgent attention and policy change.

We the undersigned stand united for a future that values nature and life over short-term development goals.
