Look, I’ve spent my whole life here in Alabama, and it hurts to see what’s happening to our woods. We’re lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful, biodiverse spots in the country, but we're losing it fast I mean real fast. That must not happen.

It feels like every time you turn around, more trees are being cleared for another industrial site, new subdivisions or big housing developments. We’re talking thousands of acres gone every year according to the U.S. Forest Service. When those forests go, the wildlife goes with them the animals you love to see and the places you love to go. So many animals are suffering due to companies such as Georgia-Pacific, Canfor, and Kimberly-Clark. Due to this our communities lose a piece of what makes Alabama, sweet home Alabama.

We can't just sit back and watch. We need to push for intense rules on land use and get serious about protecting what we have left. Because soon, we won't have anything left to protect. I'm starting this petition to show our leaders that we actually care about our land. Please sign it—let’s make sure our kids actually get to grow up with the same woods we did.
