Stop Deforestation and Preserve Endangered Wildlife

Stop Deforestation and Preserve Endangered Wildlife
The Issue
As Filipino citizens, we have experienced firsthand the devastating impacts of climate change - from flooding to food scarcity, unbearable heat, and the tragic loss of our beautiful natural forests and wildlife. These environmental issues are not just statistics for us; they are our lived reality.
Our actions towards nature, such as killing wildlife and cutting down trees, are reflected back onto us and future generations. It's estimated that 18.7 million acres of forests are lost each year, equivalent to 27 soccer fields every minute (WWF, 2024). These seemingly distant consequences are already knocking on our doors. Aside from wrecking our landscapes, deforestation contributes about 15% of all greenhouse gas emissions, playing a big role in the global climate crisis (National Geographic, 2020).
We call on all citizens and our government to show compassion towards the threatened animals and to take significant steps in halting deforestation. We must set stricter regulations for animal hunting, encourage tree planting events, and educate our communities about the long-term impacts of these actions on our environment.
Our request isn't simply about save the trees or animals. It's more extensive: it's about saving ourselves and the future of the succeeding generations. Join our cause. Sign this petition today and together, let's be the voice for our wildlife and the guardians of our forests.
