After a few years off, the Norristown Farm Park announced it will conduct a deer "cull" this March, 2023.  It states "Deer culls serve to reduce the park’s deer population and bring it into balance with the site’s available resources."  The site has been selling off more and more land to a farmer that uses it for fodder (livestock feed).  The park should be preserving the land with local vegetation and allowing native animals to peacefully exist without harm.  Humans are the reason deer have less and less available space, safety, and resources.   We need to leave the deer alone and make our parks a true sanctuary for indigenous wildlife.  We are asking Montgomery County Officials to make this the last year the Norristown Farm Park permits a deer hunt. We hope they consider nonlethal means of population control instead if necessary. Stop the killing!
