The Issue
Hello, my name is Shawn Held. I live in Miami, Florida and i love my planet, as i believe any human should. I wish to speak out and make this petition in attempt to put an indefinite halt on the Offshore Minerals auction being held under the decision of The Trump Administration and The Marine Minerals Administration. Donald Trump and his administration’s insatiable gluttony have been the sole cause for countless detrimental atrocities against our oceans, the air we breathe, the land we walk on, and the overall infrastructure that supports the sustainability of life on this beautiful planet we call home. His most recent conquest being in PACM-1 and PACM-2, Auctions that will allow the highest bidders to reap the deep sea of its essential sea minerals (cobalt, silver, nickel) that lie on the 69 million acres of seabed in the federal waters of Samoa and The Pacific Islands will be stripped away from the lively environment which relies on such minerals to thrive. These waters are home to over 200,000 different species of Sealife (And countless more yet to be discovered) and are depended on by the indigenous population of the pacific islands. According to marine scientists. This auction being held by Trump and the Marine Minerals Administration would effectively cause irreparable damage for the state of the deep sea environment and fast forward the endangerment and extinction of countless marine life already discovered, and make species yet to discover forever lost history. Please sign this petition so we, the people who actually care for the livelihood of this world and our lovely oceans can show those who don't, that the oceans are NOT FOR SALE.
