The process of declawing is an unnecessary, dangerous, and cruel thing to do to cats. But what exactly makes it so bad?

Onychectomy, more commonly known as Declawing, is a procedure which involves surgically removing the claws of a cat. It is done for reasons such as to prevent the cat from destroying furniture.

Declawing is a cruel act because cats can suffer from a multitude of problems from being declawed. They may suffer from paw pain, infection, necrosis, and even depression and anxiety all from just being declawed.

Countries such as England, Germany, and Switzerland, have all taken action into putting a stop to declawing, it’s time that we take action to stop it as well.
