Stop Data Centers from Being Built in Archbald, PA!

The Issue

Corporate entities have been buying up land near our homes for decades. From coal mines to power plants, as locals, you and I have seen it all. The next industrial push that has us on the chopping block is AI Data Centers.

These are not your typical data center for things like social media or phone storage. These are larger facilities used to generate AI images and media using generative AI. These facilities are being proposed right next to our houses. They are cutting down entire sections of forested land without approval to build these data centers. Not to mention, once built, These data centers consume massive amounts of electricity, driving up electric bills of nearby residents.

Worst of all, they pollute the air by releasing emissions from smokestacks. They pollute water by releasing contaminated freshwater back into rivers and streams, using millions of gallons per day. They also create noise and light pollution by producing constant noise and bright light 24/7.

For example, the Wildcat Ridge Data Center, spanning just shy of 500 acres, would consume 3.3 million gallons of water and 1600 Megawatts of electricity per day. This project consists of 14 3-story buildings, each 380,000~ square feet each, or roughly the size of a large Walmart supercenter. The total land this project takes up can fit SIX Disneylands inside of it. The total amount of land in Archbald alone proposed for data centers is around NINE TIMES the size of Washington D.C. They want to cover us in data centers.

We need to come together to oppose these data centers for ours and the surrounding communities' safety. Say NO to Archbald Data Centers!
