I have lived in the beautiful towns of Danielson and Killingly my whole life. Known for the tranquility and the rich wildlife, this Quiet Corner of Connecticut has always been a sanctuary where the songs of birds resonate and deer can be seen gracefully crossing through the green. It breaks my heart to think that a data center, along with its inevitable consequences, could shatter the peace and balance of our home.

Data centers are notorious for bringing a massive influx of noise, traffic, and pollution to any area they occupy. The construction and operation of these facilities would undoubtedly mean more vehicles congesting our streets, especially on Westfield Avenue, where roadkill is already a distressing reality due to the large number of animals frequenting these roads. More traffic would only lead to more tragic incidents, steering our beloved animals from their natural habitats deeper into the unknown woods.

Moreover, data centers consume enormous amounts of water and energy, posing a grave threat to our local water shed areas. These are vital for maintaining the unique biodiversity that characterizes Danielson and Killingly. The increased water and energy demand could lead to depleted resources, thereby endangering not just wildlife but also impacting our everyday lives.

We understand the importance of technology and the need for infrastructure development. However, there should be a considerate approach, keeping in mind environmental sustainability and community well-being. Alternative locations for these proposed data centers should be considered, where the environmental impact would be significantly less.
