A short update:

Meath Co Co never discussed the environmental impact of flying 1300 aircraft over Ratoath or a similar amount over Ashbourne prior to altering the flight paths!!

Meath Co Co have a duty to protect the public amenity which is not being preserved.

A quote from response email from Meath Co Co as follows:

You have asked a question ‘Did the DAA consult Meath County Council and advise them of their intention?’. As part of my involvement in this item raised by the Elected Representatives, I was unable to identify any consultation between the DAA and the Council relating to the change in flightpaths last August and this is possibly because the Council is not one of the Statutory agencies assigned a role to monitor/enforce activity associated with Dublin Airport.”

Also Meath Co Co feels noise pollution in Co Meath is not an issue for Meath Co Co but an issue for Fingal! (Because the aircraft take off from Dublin Airport).

- but the noise pollution is in Meath, over our towns????

Local representatives have been instructed not to discuss the issue in future.

Meath County Council has told the Elected Representatives that the Council has no jurisdiction to undertake any enforcement action as a consequence of aircraft activity associated with Dublin Airport. Although the Council can’t take enforcement action, the Executive has listened to the Elected Representatives and has written on a number of occasions to different entities with responsibility for activities arising from Dublin Airport, outlining the concerns raised in the Council Chamber.

If you disagree that the ongoing noise pollution is an issue for Meath Co Co to address drop them an email:
