-Contra Costa Animal Services CONTINUES to euthanize animals WITHOUT trying every SINGLE effort necessary to SAVE LIVES.

-They DO NOT have close friendly connections with rescues - instead they are rude and burn helpful bridges.

-Animals continue to be adopted and released to the public without spay/neuter being done before leaving the shelter. 

-Funding needed to hire more veterinary staff is being hoarded in their animal accounts, instead of being properly disbursed to the shelter to use for improvements that are so desperately needed. 

-Social media is rarely used as a platform for them to reach out and ask our wonderful animal loving community for help. � Keeping things very morbid and hush hush is how they like their shelter to run.

-When volunteers DO STEP UP to help, they are turned down with almost every single suggestion brought to the table. Despite the fact that many of their ideas will absolutely help turn that shelter into a positive loving and rewarding home for our Unhoused animals.

-CCAS takes animals from all walks of life. Backyard breeding, abuse, neglect, surrenders.. it is their responsibility to advocate for these animals and give them any and every bit of a fighting chance for better lives. Instead they are being locked away in kennels behind endless bureaucracy. 

-Social events and options for the animals to go out on field trips (pumpkin patches, family hikes, local colleges and veterinary schools, dogs and donut events, fairs and breweries etc.) are also denied. 

-As well as the idea of hiking groups to get all of the animals out of their cages and allow those poor animals a chance to burn some of their very anxious energy. It seems to have come to be a very sad hopeless cycle of corruption over at CCAS. This needs to stop, the animals DESERVE BETTER! Currently they are planning on euthanizing puppies on 10/11/2023 with ZERO OUTREACH to the community. � If you want the truth; you must dig to see just how morbid this facility truly is. 

If Contra Costa Animal Services is not stopped or changed SOON, more animals will continue to suffer in their cells and ultimately end up euthanized at the hands of their extremely desensitized short staffed organization. Of the almost hundred people on payroll over at CCAS, only 9 employees are allowed to interact with the animals. They use poles to aggressively remove animals from their cells and then they turn around and say the animals are “stressed” - they are stressed because they are being abused and mishandled. Many of the “investigation/on hold” animals are simply locked in a cell and never taken out for walks or exercise. Volunteers are not allowed in certain “wards”... Many of the animals remain drugged in order to keep them calm. When you drive by CCAS, their play yards are rarely in use. You will never see the “director” over there in person, nor does she respond to emails and or ideas for improvement. The few volunteers that they do allow in the facility, have also witnessed abuse and neglect to these innocent animals. These animals NEED OUR VOICES NOW!!!

We encourage EVERYBODY who cares about animals and our community to sign. Change is beyond overdue down at that shelter. Truth needs to surface. The physical abuse and neglect of these animals is illegal and needs to BE SEEN by the world. The Bay Area is better than this. We have land, funds and some of the most amazing caring and compassionate folks in the world right here in our own county. Why should we allow this corruption to go on any longer? The funding this shelter has is more than enough to clean house. Get those untrustworthy people in charge out of there. Hire true animals lovers who will bring positivity compassion and love into advocating for these lives that have been dismissed for so many years. It is up to everyday people like us to FINALLY TAKE A STAND. ENOUGH!!! HAULT CCAS - INVESTIGATE THEM and bring JUSTICE to all of the animals, past present and future!!
