Our aim is to stop Project Triton, the proposed data center in Norton. The project is being led and developed by Quantum HPC Infrastructure on property owned by Norton Energy Services. The location is the old PPG mine on Limestone Drive (off of Cleveland-Massilon Rd).

 In a meeting on 10/13 with the CEO of Quantum HCP, Dale Hobbie, Norton Mayor Mike Zita, and Norton City Council, citizens presented serious concerns regarding noise and light pollution, property values, and infrastructure strain. While many members of the community do not feel the answers given were adequate, we made our message clear: NO DATA CENTER IN NORTON! Norton and Barberton are vibrant communities, home to elders, children, and families who cherish their quality of life. The proposed data center poses significant health risks due to potential increases in noise pollution, water drainage issues, and electromagnetic radiation. The constant hum of machinery and increased traffic could disrupt daily life and shatter the peace that so many of us hold dear.

Moreover, property values could decline, impacting the financial security of countless residents. Families have invested their hard-earned savings into their homes, imagining a safe haven. This encroachment jeopardizes their investment and future.

While data centers are indeed necessary for today's technological needs, they must be situated in locations that do not harm residential neighborhoods. We urge the Norton City Council to deny permits for this construction near our homes, and request alternative locations be considered that won't impact the well being of residents.

We need citizens from Barberton, Wadsworth, Akron, and all the surrounding areas to be aware and involved! When we kick Quantum HCP out of Norton, they'll go somewhere else and potentially harm our neighbors. Let's show them they're not welcome anywhere near the beautiful lands and communities of northeast Ohio.

We want to compel the Planning Board to oppose Project Triton when they vote on 10/28 at City Hall. We aim to stop the data center in its tracks before it reaches City Council. We are organizing initiatives such as mail campaigns and protests to deliver a strong message to Norton, Barberton, and the surrounding areas.
