Dear Friends,

1.With your support and advocacy, we have reached 5.5 K . Congratulations to all of you. Your hard work and advocacy is paying off . 

2.We  would request you  to aim for getting  5 signatures over this weekend with your  friends and family . Share the petition with link  https://www.change.org/ASESJHS2024 . It will take 10 to 15 minutes over weekend and would be a great community service to prevent impending health care crisis/Tsunami on 08/12/24. Together we win. 

3.One more organization has joined the petition Pacific Stroke Association https://pacificstrokeassociation.org/ . We welcome Pacific stroke association to stand with underserved diverse stroke patients in east santa clara 

4.   As stated by Supervisor Simitian at the Board of  Supervisors Santa Clara County meeting on April 16th, 2024, “There is the legal obligation of a regulatory body to exercise its authority that exists in part to render judgment about a public harm that is about to occur that is inconsistent with the regulatory framework.”  Therefore  California State has implied  authority to protect the public from harm no matter how powerful the adversary is. We are already waiting anxiously from CDPH /state for last 7 weeks since Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors sent their unanimous recommendation to state not to let RMC close its doors on 04/16/24.    

Physicians including Trauma Surgeons, Orthopedic surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Plastic surgeons, ENT surgeons, Opthomologists, Neuro IR physicians have received 90 days termination on May 12 th and have started  looking around for alternative employment/contracts  in neighboring hospitals or outside state. Some of Equipment from Operating Rooms  have  been moved to  sister facility .Surgeons are not feeling comfortable bringing elective surgeries . Chairman Emergency  and Radiology departments have resigned from their positions . RMC has started bleeding and if this is not stopped , it may become unsalvageable in very near future.  Therefore we have to increase our efforts to impress upon elected officials to act immediately. 

4.Our goal is to reach 10,000 signatures and once we have required signatures, we will hand deliver to Hon'ble Gavin Newsom, (Governor of California), Rob Bonta (CA State Attorney General) , DrTomás J. Aragón (Director and State Public Health Officer of California). We will remind our elected officials about famous quote by our 16th President Abraham Lincoln's The Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863) “Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people.” You  shouldn’t let lobbyists , corporate lawyers  and rich corporations to crush people’s voice. We look forward to their  exemplary  leadership.
