For the past nine years, the Gladstone Robosavages proved to Singapore, Finland, Japan, and USA that you, the Vancouver School Board, have one of the best technology programs in the world.
Gladstone has achieved multiple finalist standings in the vex robotics world championships (including this year); a world championship first *and* second place in 2012, and a prime ministers award for one of the two founding teachers in 2011.
If Gladstone closes, their students and their lab, a friendly neighbourhood tech hub, will scatter. Do not interrupt a nine year lineage of student mentorship and teamwork. These students who build robots late into the night are our future engineers, scientists and inventors. They are neighbourhood volunteers and global colleagues with robotics students everywhere. Do not break up this generous community. After all, VSB, where else can a bunch of teenagers from East Vancouver have a shot at being on top of the world?
