Have you recently opened a bill from City Utilities & almost passed out?? Have you called them to discuss it only to be told you should have been aware of how to read your bill?? 

Do you feel like the city passed the buck off to us for their errors? 

The city of Fort Wayne forced its residents to change out the water meters to digital meters. This was supposed to "make it easier" for the city to read the meters by sending a signal to the meter instead of sending a person. The company they contracted with, Tribus, changed them out and apparently did a poor job/failed so the city contracted with someone new. This company has to come out and re-work the meters/change them out completely. MANY months later, the city's residents were hit with astronomical water bills that included around 9 months of past usage that was a result of the city having to "estimate" instead of getting "actual" readings from the meters. From many I have spoken to, it resulted in being charged anywhere from $350-$1000!!! When the residents called downtown to Citizens Square we were told we had 2 options: pay in full or put it on a deferred payment plan for 12 months. 

This should have never happened! It's unacceptable & needs to stop immediately. It feels like a slap in the face to the hard-working residents of this city. We work too hard to have to worry about where the extra money is going to come from to pay for the city's poor management, oversight and lack of care and compassion for the residents of this city.
