Stop city from killing my dog

The Issue

Update It’s my understanding that the DA Feels that this is not shedding good light on them  And while I am not happy about the things that have been done, they are completely legal and completely the DA job to do  The city pays him to defend the city and he is supposed to do that to the best of his ability

My son and I will be devastated if the city kills our dog. The city wants to kill him June 18, 2024.
Our Dog, Mister Grimm was name after Grimms fairytales that my son was reading when we got him in 2020.
I drove hours to pick him up. I was told he had been in a kennel run, in a shed for all his life, 14 months. I took him to see Dr. Moon in Ozark and found out his ears were bloody due to infections. His stool was bloody due to intestinal infection. I was told he was 85 pounds but he came in at 70ish. He did not seem to know why we had toys or balls but enjoyed treats. Morning and night I had to doctor his ears and rub them. This became our thing. Took him back a few weeks later and he had gained weight and was infection free. I did not have a job in 2020 until Aug. Our house was mini schnauzers, my son and I. Mister Grimm was protective of our yard and us. We took him to get neutered at the end of 2020, he was a whopping 120lbs. He is a smart boy. He sits and lays down. But he didn’t seem to like other people. I tried taking him to baseball games with us but other kids made fun of my son for his barking dog. I did get a trainer to help. I thought we were doing well. I practiced what I was told too. She suggested for everyone’s safety to keep him muzzled when we take him out so no accidents could possibly happen.
we were forced to move in Oct 2023. It was stressful for all of us. I was working as much as I could to pay for moving. We were off for Christmas break, enjoying a movie and my son heard a knock on the door. In what seems like seconds, I heard Mister bark and growl then his voice went down an octave and chaos insued. A stranger came to the door, my son told them the dog isn’t friendly they should go, so the person stepped towards my son trying to hand him something. Mister pushed my son out of the way and tried to stop the person. 2 reports say he bit person on our porch, 2 others think it was in driveway. No one really saw what happened but they were hurt and required stitches. It was awful for us and them.
we did all the things and got to bring Mister home after the shelter and had taken him to multiple trainers in the area. I have 4 who were willling to help train him and said he wasn’t vicious just fear reactive.  We set up 2 training sessions with a business that trains military, police and pet dogs. They could grab the leash and walk him. Things were going well. Then we had spring break. Someone left our gate open and my son, wanting to help me, let dogs out before I got home.
sadly, they all got out and someone got hurt. We have no idea what happened. I was at work. My son didn’t make it in time to stop it or see what happened. My son is 14, 94lbs and 5’. But he put himself in the ay to stop the first victim from being hurt. And he grabbed mister and walked him home for 2nd time. From Oct y til end of mar, the privacy fence hadn’t been left open. But apparently utility workers had been in and out of many fences. We don’t actually use the fence gate so that’s is our best guess of why it was left open. Mister has been in shelter since then.
originally, he had to wear a muzzle 24/7. He barked and was aggressive towards the staff. Today, he is NOT muzzled all the time. Staff pet him and some get him out of pen and let him in play yard. They can take his muzzle off and on no problem. Like he is learning other people are ok and safe.
When we spoke to Mr Rabal the DA he explained he wanted me to put the dog down and inferred if I did I would not get sued. I asked if someone out of state could take the dog, a man who rescues horses and lives on many acres. I told him about the trainers and what they said. I offered to move away out of town and county.  All of my suggestions were met with a no and that he wanted the dog destroyed.
both bites were level 4 and not a euthanasia bite on the Dunbar chart. I have video of Mister at home. With us he is a big dork who doesn’t understand he isn’t the size of the mini schnauzers. He loves to chew squeakers out of toys. He loves racing to the bed. He loves afternoon naps on the couch. If anyone should be punished it’s the humans here not the dog. But he is a huge black dog who nipped 2 ppl.
I am asking for help to show the judge we do not have to kill the dog. There are many other options. In the three and a half years prior to moving we never had any issues.  It’s the move, our stress and lack of proper training. It’s been shown to me how I was following instructions wrong when training.
