Hi as a disabled person hits adulthood and leaves school and then wish to attend a day centre the l.a do financial assessment (as soon as they claim UC)to see what their contribution should be ,this is so they can take the most possible and leave them with the bare minimum , you have to list every outgoing and keep receipts of everything from food to clothing and everything else ,this puts extra pressure on families and the disabled person and they decide what falls as a DRE ! Every household pays towards social care and this is cruel as those with disabilities still deserve the same as everyone else and often everything disability related is more expensive and they are expected to live on a pittance during a cost of living crisis I feel they are being punished for being disabled ,as I say above living at home with parents /families saves the l.a millions every year ,i asking for everyone to stand with us and show them this is wrong ,especially when carer’s allowance is £76.75 for providing around the clock care ,including throughout the night & early hours ,by living at home with parents the L.a save millions of pounds ,the disabled persons living costs do not diminish because they attend a day centre ,they still have to live and not be forced into poverty on top of being disabled ,while our government can write off covid fraud ,waste money on track & trace ,spend tax payers money on booze ,claim huge expenses & second homes ,not tax huge companies ,hand out contracts to their family ,do dodgy deals ,5* meals for under £5 ,how is this fair
