We the parents, community, and students of West Shore School District, stand against Character Strong Curriculum in our schools. 

Teachers are going to be used more as therapists rather than teachers. They went to school to teach our kids reading, writing, and arithmetic. Character Strong has hidden agendas that are not revealed until the program is purchased. A few demos do not display what will be taught to our kids, where is the transparency? Character Strong is another name for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). It is purchased through Cassel while it started out as a generic SEL program, they have transitioned to a Transformative SEL.

• Taking away parent's rights on how morally parents want to raise their kids

These topics are for in the home and NOT for in school. Our kids need to be able to learn to think for themselves and not be told how to think and feel. It is time to get back to the fundamentals and the foundation of respect and being held accountable for your actions.
