Stop Changes in School Bus Transportation and Implement Zero-Walk Policy in Our District

The Issue

I am a student deeply affected by the recent school transportation changes in our district. Unexpectedly and suddenly, the district changed the bus I take home from school, a decision I highly disagree with and how our district's transportation policies are extremely outdated.

Several of the roads closest to the high school are busy streets that do not have any sidewalks and are very dangerous.
District-wide, these policies are causing unnecessary delays and inconvenience to parents and students like me. Schools are meant to be pillars of learning, comfort and safety. Yet, every day, dozens of students commute on foot on busy streets with no sidewalks and streets deemed hazardous for walking by penndot in 2010 due to outdated district policies. Without proper bus services, transportation to school is becoming inconvenient  for many students. Is it too much to ask for better bus transportation for each student, especially considering the unpredictable dangers on the roads?

In light of this, we call on the district authorities to reverse the change in what bus I ride home from school and to improve the transportation policy. We are asking for comprehensive school bus services that accommodate all students within the district. It's time for our district to implement a zero-walk policy to ensure that no student is left disadvantaged by their means of transportation.

We appeal to everyone, especially students, parents and school staff, to support this cause. By signing this petition, you can help us communicate this critical issue to our district leaders. Together, we can catalyze necessary changes for better, safer, and more reliable school transport for all. Please sign our petition.
