Stop CG Roxane LLC's water extraction facility proposal
The Issue
My home, my community, my sanctuary – it’s all at risk and I can’t stand idle as it happens. CG Roxane LLC has submitted a proposal to the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals, seeking a Use Variance to establish a water bottle manufacturing and extraction facility at 1825 W Winona Ave, currently zoned as an R-2 residential district. This threatens not only the character and tranquility of our neighborhood, but also the environment and resources we tirelessly strive to protect.
Warsaw's zoning laws exist to defend our community from such industrial intrusions, and for good reason. Residential areas like ours are not suited for large-scale operations that will bring excessive noise, heavy traffic, and environmental pollution. Allowing CG Roxane's request could set a dangerous precedent for the future, leading to further industrial encroachments in areas dedicated to families and natural spaces.
Of significant concern is the potential impact on local water resources. Groundwater depletion and contamination are real threats posed by large-scale water extraction facilities. Studies show significant declines in local aquifers in areas adjacent to such operations, leading to dire consequences for local agriculture and wildlife. Moreover, residents like us who depend on well-water could see a reduction in water quality and availability.
This is unacceptable for Warsaw, a town known for its commitment to sustainable growth and community well-being. We have a responsibility to manage our resources wisely, not deplete them for profit-driven operations. We must preserve our neighborhood’s safety, health, and standard of living.
We urge you to sign this petition to send a clear message to the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals: our residential zones are not open for industrial operations. Demand that the Board upholds the zoning laws that protect our community. With your support, we can hold strong against this proposal and secure our town's future sustainably and responsibly. Please sign and share widely to help us protect Warsaw from inappropriate industrial development.
