The Issue

For many years, the clinics run by the Central and North West London (CNWL) NHS Foundation Trust have been a beacon in sexual health and contraception care provision, providing essential services in North Central London. However, imminent plans to make Specialist Sexual Health doctors (SASG doctors) redundant risks significantly reducing the quality and accessibility of core clinic services.

SASG Sexual Health doctors play a crucial role in teaching, training and delivering sexual health and contraception care especially long-acting contraception (LARC) such as IUDs (coils). The loss of these skilled professionals would have a significant impact, potentially limiting access to quality sexual health care for all, but most acutely for vulnerable populations who rely on these services to stay safe and healthy. This is also at a time of decreased national prescribing of LARC and difficulties in accessing specialist sexual health services for many people.

We call on the CNWL decision-makers to prioritize public health and consider the long-term impacts these cuts could have on the community. We ask that CNWL protect its doctors and maintain the full range of services that so many depend on.

Join us in this fight to safeguard our clinics and protect the high standard of care everyone deserves. Sign this petition to urge CNWL to halt the planned cuts to SASG sexual health doctors and ensure these crucial services continue to operate at full capacity for the benefit of all.
