Anyone who lives in the Shorewood or Minooka area of Illinois knows the dangerous intersection of Route 52 and County Line Rd all too well. That area of Route 52 is a risky road already, the sharp curves and high speed limit have caused numerous car accidents but adding in a road where drivers have to find a clear path to drive a cross is even worse. According to The Patch, 106 crashes have happened at the intersection within the last decade, some even fatal. The article also states that many of these accidents are caused by drivers failing to come to a complete stop on County Line Rd. County Line isn't the only dangerous intersection, Baltz Rd, another intersecting road with Route 52. Despite there being a stop sign, it isn't enough. 52 is an incredibly busy road making it difficult for drivers trying to merge in. Many petitions have been started over this but it seems like there is nothing being done about it. Please, if you travel on any of these roads to work, school, home, or even just going to the store, consider signing this and hopefully save some lives!
