Today I spoke to a woman who volunteered at IACS for a year (July 2022-July 2023). She told me that one quarter of all of the dogs in the facility are euthanized on a regular basis. The group that is euthanized is always pit bulls or pit bull mixes, with very few exceptions. She told me that these euthanizations are done in groups. Most of the dogs aren't even given a chance at adoption. I was surprised and shocked. I always assumed that all dogs (except those who are aggressive) are given a chance at adoption. She disabused me of that notion. She said there were many that she thought should have been given a chance at adoption but were not.
If IACS were not so inundated with pit bulls, this would not happen. This conversation further convinced me that spay/neuter must be required for these poor animals. Please sign and share our petition! https://chng.it/WWJTSgWTmV
