Another news story about pit bulls used in dog fighting

WXIN ran a story today about 70 pit bulls found in a dog fighting ring in Indianapolis. https://rb.gy/iu2va It is heartbreaking to see these poor dogs used this way. If you watch the news story you'll see the terrible conditions they lived in. These dogs will all go to the city shelter or to local rescue groups which already have more dogs than they can handle. This is an example of the pit bull overpopulation crisis in Indianapolis and the affect it has on the community and the innocent dogs involved.

I am pleased to announce that a local pit bull rescue, Lucci's House Bully Rescue is now helping us with the petition. I really think this will help spread the word and increase our odds of success. Another thing that will help tremendously is if you would contact some of the decisionmakers listed on our petition page. Letting them know that this issue is on the minds of voters will mean more to them than anything else. Here is a suggested email you could send:

Dear Councillor [insert name]:

I am writing to express my concern over the pit bull overpopulation crisis in Indianapolis. There have been several stories in the news that highlight the effects of this problem on both the city and the innocent dogs.

I am a supporter of a petition on Change. org that calls for the City-County Council to require the spay/neuter of all pit bulls in Indianapolis and registration of all breeders. Failure to do so would be the imposition of fines. You can read the petition here: https://chng.it/WWJTSgWTmV

I hope you will support this important initiative.

Sincerely,

[your name]

Thanks again for your support!
