We, the students, athletes, parents, colleagues, friends, and community members of Crook County sign below in support of Jessica Mumm.

Jessica has been a dedicated basketball, volleyball, and track coach for the Crook County School District for the last 12 years. In this time she has positively impacted countless student athletes at the middle school and high school. Jessica is passionate about coaching and the importance of sports and mentorship on the lives of young student athletes, and over the years, has been a positive influence on so many of us.

An upset, misguided parent is currently working to see Jessica removed from all coaching positions in our schools because of an overblown incident involving Coach Mumm and her daughter. The district used an independent investigator to look into the situation and the Superintendent found no evidence to support the removal of Jessica from her coaching positions. This parent continues to appeal the superintendent’s decision in an attempt to remove Jessica from all coaching positions in the District.

This situation sets a dangerous precedent that could deter talented coaches from serving in our schools. It also undermines the values of fairness and respect that we strive to instill in our students.
