First of all, thank you to the 600+ of you who made time to sign this petition and share with others. I have really felt an amazing sense of solidarity and community.
The good news is that CAMFT is listening! Many of you have reached out to them directly, posted on social media, and importantly, showed up at the CAMFT board meeting and expressed your concerns and outrage. It sounds like they are already seriously reviewing the issue and plan on taking actions.
Tomorrow, Katrina Mautner, MFT (one of several co-authors on this letter) and I will be meeting with Joy Alafia, who is the Executive Director of CAMFT. We plan on reiterating our demands articulated in the letter, and also investigating the problematic culture at CAMFT that allowed this to happen in the first place. I can not speak for all of you, but I plan on also sharing the real impact and hurt that this has caused me personally.
In Gratitude and Solidarity,
Davi Pettit, MFT
