STOP BURNING ANIMALS ALIVE VIC GOVERNMENT
Help stop the perpetual burn-offs that the Vic Government stages every year that destroy the lives and habitats of many species of animals. What is the point in rescuing animals if they are only going to be burnt to death by the Victorian Government. There are also terrible health implications from perpetual inhalation of smoke for people residing in these areas, as well as the fact that sometimes burn-offs are ineffective in preventing wildfires if performed too early, so why bother. Please sign and share this petition to present to the Vic State Government if you care about the lives of animals.
- Premier of Victoria, Australia
Dear Premier Andrews,
We the signatories of this petition, do hereby declare that we believe the practice of "Planned Burning" is totally unacceptable. Planned Burns cause untold pain and suffering to wildlife in the Bush. We also believe that the reduction of fuel, especially in the autumn months does little to alleviate fire risks during the fire season. People in the East of Victoria especially, are tired of the constant inhalation of smoke which in the long term will kill far more people than a wildfire, to treat animals as collateral damage simply to show your government Department is doing something about Bushfires is unjust and cruel. People have been unaware of this problem however this petition is revealing international condemnation of your actions. Wildlife carers are sick and tired of rehabilitating wildlife only to return the animals to the wild and find out that in the Autumn they have been burnt to death thanks to your policies on planned burns every year. The DELWP have blood on their hands and break every law of humanity in their actions. Stop it now, this will become an issue in the up and coming state election, we won't rest until this Government Barbarism is ceased. Stop Burning Animals Alive!
