Stop the construction of warehouses in Plainfield, IL! No more massive distribution centers!

Currently, they want to build a 1.2 million sq ft warehouse at the corner of Johnson Rd and Ridge Rd (more info here). They also want to build two huge warehouses at the corner of 143rd and Ridge Rd (more info here) which will be right behind the Playa Vista Neighborhood. And it doesn't stop there. They are dedicating lots of land to future industrial use along Ridge Rd and 126 (see land use map here) which means even more warehouses, construction, semi-trucks and traffic! 

Plainfield residents are sick and tired of never-ending construction and awful traffic. Adding more warehouses to our hometown is going to increase the amount of semi-trucks and cause even more traffic that we have to drive through. There's already a lot of construction going on around Plainfield and we don't want to have to drive through even more construction zones. Traffic has gotten pretty bad when driving down Ridge Rd and 143rd. We don't want more construction and more semi-trucks on our roads!

All of the recently built warehouses are still sitting there empty. Semi-truck traffic is already bad; how bad will it be when these new warehouses are actually up and running? Also, these warehouses are supposed to be bringing job opportunities to Plainfield residents. How are the warehouses going to bring jobs when they are still empty? The Chill warehouse has been complete for a while now, and yet there are no companies renting it out. The proposed warehouses that they still want to build don't have any companies lined up to rent them yet. So how long are these warehouses going to sit empty?

Plainfield residents don't want a massive industrial park in their town! We appreciate more of the small town feel. Warehouses take away from our beloved farmland and green spaces. We don't want to see nature taken over by giant concrete buildings. We don't want the light pollution and noise pollution that will come from these massive warehouses.
